About

I am currently a Health Scientist Administrator in the Office of Data sharing at the NCI, the same office I was placed in as a AAAS Science and Technology Policy fellow. Previously, I was a researcher in the department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Florida. My research focuses on the development of therapeutic approaches that utilize existing immunological tools combined with novel small molecule antagonists to treat Glioblastoma. In collaboration with industry partners, our lab is integral to the optimization and design of preclinical trials with the goal of translating these results to early phase clinical trials. Our team works closely with clinician scientists toward realization of this goal. I have a background in scientific communication, having been a high school science teacher for three years. As such I feel comfortable effectively disseminating complex concepts to a lay audience. Additionally, during my time as a lab tech and graduate student, I initially worked in the Department of Surgery at UF where I gave weekly data reports to the chair of the department and had regular experience working, communicating, and collaborating with clinicians.
