Joe Wrobel

Born in 1948, in Zurich, Switzerland -- the country into which his father fled after escaping Nazi occupied Europe in 1942. At age two, Joe Wrobel's family emigrated to the United States. He is a lifelong resident of Chicago and its suburbs. This early experience and that of his father has had a great influence on Joe's personal and professional life. After Joe Wrobel's family settled in Chicago, he attended Amundsen High School, and in 1965 graduated from Niles West High School in Skokie, Il. From 1969 through 1975, Joe served with the U.S. Army Reserve 363rd Civil Affairs Unit. Joe earned a B.A. In Psychology from Northwestern University and in 1973 he earned a JD from DePaul University Law School. Throughout his career, Joe Wrobel has made available his services to those without the resources to hire a private practice attorney. In 1977, he formed the 71st Street Law Office, which for 10 years served the South Shore and neighboring communities. Along with the Legal Clinic of Wrobel and Roseman, 71st Street Law Office was a pioneer in bringing affordable legal services to the neighborhoods of Chicago. Many early clients, as well as friends and family are still clients of Joseph Wrobel. Since becoming a practicing attorney in 1973, Joe Wrobel has worked with individuals and families on a wide variety of legal matters. The law firm of Joseph Wrobel, Ltd., formed in 1980, now has offices located in Chicago, Schaumburg, Naperville, Joliet and Gurnee and has served over 20,000 clients. Joe continues to focus his efforts on helping those in need, guiding clients through the bankruptcy filing process. Joe is also an active member of the Bankruptcy Panel of the Pro Bono Panel of the CVLS and several other law industry associations. Joe is an avid bicyclist and licensed cycling coach with Vision Quest Coaching. He lives in suburban Chicago with his wife, a senior center program director.
