The treatments that these babies receive vary by country, state, and even hospital because without good evidence physicians cannot agree which treatments are safe and effective. My research goal is to improve neonatal care and outcomes through rigorous research that will evaluate the comparative risks and benefits of medications and devices that, despite limited evidence, are commonly used in the treatment of neonatal disorders.
