I was lucky to work as a developer and architect on big projects that utilized various concepts and technologies: Big Data, Distributed Computing, Machine Learning, In Memory Data Grid, Cybersecurity, Spark, Scala, Hadoop, Java, Kafka, Agile development etc. I have been working for five years in Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Cyber Security Big Data team. I designed and built several distributed systems for processing vast amount of various data used for Cyber Security purposes. (correct de-duplication and stitching of Netflow data (Hadoop), high throughput rule engine (SEM part of SIEM) (Hazelcast), detection of malicious trending domains (Spark, MLlib) etc.) Before joining HPE, I participated in software development projects in several big international companies (Amdocs, Dun & Bradstreet, Accenture), small ones and academia. I significantly contributed to establishing the EU founded SAPPAN project that has goal to increase efficiency and detection abilities in Cyber Security. I coded mainly in Java and Scala and I have good knowledge of all layers that influence enterprise Java/Scala application performance (JVM/GC, OS, HW and network) and experience with performance tuning. Recently I found Rust as a beautiful and powerful language. (I coded high throughput load balancer to learn it) I am eager to learn. Currently I am focused mainly on functional programming, machine learning and cybersecurity. I like sharing of knowledge and experience. I often presented technology concepts and training for my colleagues. I spoke several times on Cyber security and big data conferences. I am keen to testing and agile development. I implemented agile development processes based on Scrum both in academia and industry. I like sailing, kayaking, fly fishing and photography. (and Continental Europe)
