Joshua (JP) Ang

I am an Professional Engineer with a hunger to diversify and expand horizons on a daily basis. I’m an avid learner (BSc in Electrical Engineering, BA in Linguistics), with experience from all walks of life (International internship in Japan, Worldwide traveler, Piano RCM graduate, Concert Band member, Youth Counselor, Automation Engineer, Music Teacher). My post-graduate work experience includes positions in Automation and Lighting. I'm currently working as a Contractor for Enbridge, ensuring that the Canada Gas Transmission System is always accurate and running 24/7, 365 days a year. I work behind the scenes with the SCADA database, as well as interfacing with other departments during brownfield and greenfield project work. My key strengths include: - Quick and thorough learner: Picked up Cygnet SCADA software and automation methodologies within the first month of working and produced billable client work by week 1. Learned the ins and outs of the LED lighting industry and serviced clients/agencies/distributors with expertise and technical support within weeks of being hired. - Adaptable: Able to work well in a team setting as well as autonomously. Been a part of small (start-up atmosphere), medium size (~50 employees), and large corporations (5000+), working on specialized tasks or as a general point of contact for many employer needs. - Detailed: Able to catch editing mistakes, issues in presentations and websites, produce quality technical content such as PEP (Project Execution Plans), DBM (Design Based Memorandum), and User Manual documents, and increase overall look and feel of documents passing through my hands. - Loyal/Committed: Willing to go above and beyond the call of duty in advertising company values, outreach, and interest. Now, I am currently under contract with Enbridge to help facilitate the safe and reliable transition of our assets from Legacy Spectra Energy to Enbridge.
