I am currently furthering my career in the business community as a commercial account manager for McCarthy Tire Service. I have now been trained and work with both commercial truck and OTR customers. I am a 2003 graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. I currently reside in Roanoke and am a member of the Southern Virginia Transportation Council. I have been trained by Bridgestone at various locations across the country including OTR in Bloomington Ill, AG in Des Moines IA, Advanced Sales - Philadelphia PA, and Advanced Tire Analysis - Muscatine IA. Our main goal as commercial account managers is to ensure fleets or any mobile business have little to no downtime, reduce operating costs and remain up to date on all D.O.T. Standards/training. I was a manager with Wal-Mart from May of 2003 to Novemeber 2010 after completing a six month management training program. Through this opportunity I gained many managerial and leadership skills with the daily tasks of running a store with over 350 employees. I have managed all aspects of the business including human resources, operations, merchandising, etc. I also worked alongside other management team members in order to help make timely, important decisions in the company’s best interest. As I adapted quickly to the demands and tasks of my job, my supervisors entrusted me fully to manage the store in their absence. Through my experience at Wal-Mart, AFLAC, Bridgestone/GCR and now McCarthy Tire I have been able to improve my decision making capabilities as I have gained valuable problem solving and analytical skills, and sales.
