Engineering professional with 6+ years' experience in Mega-Project environment (Medupi and Kusile power plant projects). I am registered with Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer. I obtained my undergraduate degree, B Sc (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of the Witwatersrand. I also hold a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Johannesburg. Part of my training included a specialist offshore training in Germany and Switzerland on 800MW steam turbines. Professional Strengths: -6+ years of professional experience in Project Environment. -Large steam turbines (600-800 MW): specification, design, erection, commissioning and hand-over. -Design for FMECA, FMEA and HAZOP studies. -Applicable codes, standards and practices of Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of piping materials and piping industrial standards ( ASME B 31.1, ASME B 31.3). I performed code compliance interpretation, computation, development of specifications and other miscellaneous engineering tasks. -I compiled a position paper for the company on Turbine Thermal Insulation after a successful installation of Customized thermal blankets at Duvha Unit 4 turbine; a first in Eskom fossil plants. -I am a project Lead Turbine Engineer (turbine center line, feed heating and process, air cooled condensers and critical pumps).
