Joy Eubanks

I started my career as a registered nurse in the adult medical intensive care unit at a level 1 trauma hospital. I cared for critically ill patients requiring life saving interventions such as ventilators, chest tubes, and medications to maintain blood pressure and effective heart contractility. While there, I was able to develop and fine tune my critical thinking skills, as well as time management. After this I had the opportunity to work in the oncology infusion center. While there I accessed and maintained implanted ports and other central lines in order to deliver chemotherapy medications, blood and blood products. In additions to caring for chemotherapy patients, I cared for patients with hematologic disorders such as sickle cell disease and polycythemia. I am now working in women’s services where I have received numerous in-house awards used to recognize team members for honesty, integrity, positivity, and doing their job with excellence. I am hard working, diligent, creative and personable. I highly value team-based healthcare and believe that each discipline uniquely contributes to best practice. At my core I have the heart of a nurse and will continually focus on the well-being of my patients as a whole.
