Julia Sorensen

Julia's focus is helping mission driven organizations succeed. She began her career as a therapist with a specialty in treating traumatized children. She worked for many years at the Brattleboro Retreat, where she combined a strong clinical background and commitment to underserved populations with marketing, business and project management skills in a series of progressively responsible positions. Julia has over 15 years of management experience as well as broad experience re-positioning organizations, leading re-branding efforts and developing successful strategic marketing plans. Julia has also led strategic planning, operations and development efforts. She was part of an executive team that turned around a hospital, ending years of operating losses.After working for CHD, a large social service agency headquartered in Springfield, Mass., Julia joined Cooley Dickinson Health Care, a member of Mass General Brigham, in 2015. In addition to marketing and communications, Julia oversaw government relations, community health and diversity programs including the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council, Interpreter Services, A Positive Place (an HIV & AIDS services organization) and the LGBTQ program. In 2020, Julia joined central marketing at Mass General Brigham as Vice President of Market Research and Consumer Insights. Julia earned an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst Isenberg School of Business, a Master's in Social Work from Smith College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Chicago.
