About
I had about 96 students on my caseload this school year that I would see on a weekly basis. I had at minimum of 9 groups (academic, social skill, and behavioral) groups that I managed to see once a week. I also managed a school supply closet and clothes closet for students on a daily basis. I was able to provide fun, positive, beneficial campus-wide events that brought in outside agencies onto campus. The campus really enjoyed events such as "Don't Be a Monster" anti-bullying campaign and the San Antonio Public Library's "The Reading Village." I managed data entry on a daily basis and made sure student data and files were kept confidential at all times. In December 2019, my counselor retired which also allowed me to play a bigger role on campus. When teachers encountered behavioral problems, CPS related concerns, and any additional social -emotional problems within the classroom they sought out my help and advise on what to do since there was no counselor available. I was quite comfortable with this responsibility. I even enjoyed stepping up to the plate. During COVID-19, I was able to be flexible pretty quickly. I was given access to our educational technology communication application right before quarantine went into effect, which allowed me to communicate with all parents of the students. I was also included in online meetings with staff. Once I was given access to my Google Classroom I began meeting with students to meet with them about any social emotional concerns they had during their quarantine experience, while maintaining confidentiality.
