“Stubborn” is one of my traits that I am proud of. Since young, my parents often told me that a college degree is useless, I am too dumb to attend college, and they felt that it will be a waste to save money for my education. Due to my stubbornness, I did not adhere to their beliefs. I bartended at three bars concurrently with less than four hours of sleep a night for three years and funded myself to study at the Assumption University of Thailand. Upon the completion of my undergraduate education, I returned to Singapore and worked as an Equity Research Associate in EIS Global Pte Ltd. I provided long-only recommendations on US equities which delivered an average return of 30% within a year and generated a 60% return on one that boosted portfolio performance by 20%. Furthermore, I simultaneously undertook the responsibilities of trading USD/KRW futures and non-deliverable forward which generated USD 200k revenue. I felt my own limitations on not being able to fully utilize the data available and the career ceiling due to my academic background, I decided to enroll in Master of Quantitative Management: Business Analytics at Duke University, The Fuqua School of Business to overcome my shortfalls. Upon completion of my graduate degree, I accepted the opportunity to join Callisto Media as a business analyst in the Office of the CEO. When I am not drooling over the data, I am playing basketball, cooking a feast, and searching for delicious delights everywhere.
