Justin Borak

After working for in professional sports I decided to change my life and move to Colorado to seek a more outdoor focused lifestyle. I entered the Law Industry for 6 years and realized my true passion was in the outdoors. Making the move to GoLite and then REI was one of my best decisions. I was now in an industry dedicated to getting people recreating outside. I have also been able to expand my passions through an outdoor group (The Super Awesome Outdoor Group) I founded through social media. The group has allowed me to continue to help get more people outside and learn new skills. I believe in an outdoor lifestyle and culture. I am passionate about helping and teaching people whether it is outfitting them with gear or demonstrating a new skill. I love to learn and interact with people and there is no better feeling than providing a positive experience for customers and/or co-workers. Being able to train staff members, share my experiences and knowledge with customers, and put on specialty events has given me an avenue to showcase my skills. I plan to continue to display my creative, hard-working, and interpersonal skills within the outdoor industry. I am very invested in the business side of the outdoor professional world. I find it rare to work in an industry where the majority of companies have motives other than just profit. I am very good at building relationships with people from all walks of life and am able to utilize this skill by working closely with all types of companies. I am someone who is driven by passion because I know what I do positively affects someone's experience. In my free time I love to get out and hike, backpack, climb, snowboard/ski, run, or kayak.
