Growing up I used to visit my grandfather every Sunday and we would always do the same activity: pass a yellow notepad and pencil back and forth to one another writing poems and stories. He would always write the first line and then hand me the paper and pencil so I could write the second line. We wrote hundreds of poems and short, silly stories. It was simple, but looking back I think this is where my great love of storytelling was born. I have always loved storytelling. This was something that became even more evident to me as I grew up and submitted original poems to my elementary reflections contest and even wrote my own children's book. The idea of sharing a story, what drives a person to wake up in the morning, their background, interests, goals and dreams, is something that drove me itself. This love is something I have carried with me all throughout my educational and professional career so far. My first job out of high school was writing for my local newspaper. I then started my communication degree at Utah Valley University, where I played many roles in sharing UVU's story to diverse audiences including as a Presidential Intern, Foundation Ambassador, PR Intern, Miss UVU, Wolverine Fund Associate, UVUSA Volunteer, and Intern on Capitol Hill. Prior to graduating, I found that my professors voted me as the Outstanding Graduate for the Communication Department for my class, something I had always hoped about adding to my story. Upon graduating, I found myself wanting to tell the stories of others when it came to business. My time as the only female associate on UVU's Wolverine Venture Capital Fund showed me that all businesses have a story. They are trying to solve unique problems and make the world a better place, those are some of the best stories to share. Wanting to get more involved in sharing those stories, I started my master's degree in business administration at Western Governor's University. In just three short months, I have obtained that degree and am ready to help businesses and individuals from all over share their unique stories with the world, because at the end of the day, don't we all crave a good story? From the hieroglyphs in caves to the popular bedtime stories children ask for, we all love a story. I'm ready to help you tell yours.
