Kamran Choudhry

I have been a Trial Lawyer with the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court for the past 7 years. Since 2019, I have also served as a Legally Qualified Chair (LQC) in the UK. As an LQC, I chair a quasi-judicial panel that adjudicates medical regulatory matters. Prior to this, I worked at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and served as the Secretary-General of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry. I also worked at the Special Court for Sierra Leone, where I served in the trial against the former President of Liberia, Charles Taylor. I qualified as a barrister in the UK in 2001 where I practiced for several years. As a barrister, I have experience of serving as lead counsel in jury trials and representing a wide variety of clients. I am currently a member of Garden Court Chambers in the UK. I also worked as an associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. I am a member the New York Bar, where I have trial experience and worked as a litigation lawyer for Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson law firm. I am also a member of the bar of the Republic of Ireland.
