Karandeep Singh

I am a part of the R&D Regulatory Sciences at Bayer, digitalizing how we submit our products to the Regulatory Agencies, and at the same time establishing a mindfulness program and culture in the company. In my previous role as a Project Manager and Business Analyst at Bayer, I worked with business stakeholders from different indications to identify their needs and sketch the user stories and requirements and see the project to completion. The interdisciplinary nature of the project and the application provided me the opportunity to work at the interface of Pharma and Crop Science and build digital innovative solutions together. Furthermore, I analyzed IT solutions, inhouse and external and identify the potential ones suiting our needs. During this time at Bayer, I have learnt a lot about various processes and operations, project and resource management and have honed my interdisciplinary skills via different trainings. After obtaining a PhD in Theoretical and Computational Soft Matter and Biophysics, Master’s in Physics, and having done four internships, I have developed a strong scientific and analytical background along with an international and cultural exposure abroad. During my PhD, I extensively used C++ and Mathematica with parallel programming across CPU clusters to model the nanoparticle-red blood cell systems, and Python and Matplotlib to analyze the data and create beautiful plots. Working in an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment both during my PhD and at Bayer has enabled me to confidently express new ideas and results to other experts and be open to discussions and constructive criticism. The various trainings at Bayer and on-site project management have honed my professional and personal skills. Being a traveler and daily mindfulness practitioner, meeting new people, living abroad, learning foreign languages, experiencing different cultures, I could adapt in all situations, and persist and deliver the required results with excellence. I was also one of the guides for the visitors at Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), to show them around, and give brief presentations about the research at FZJ. At FZJ, I also presented my research through the medium of dance which was received enthusiastically by the audience (link below).
