Karike Martin

With 30 + years experience managing multiple high value projects across mining & minerals, hazardous facilities, mobile equipment (underground specialist) alumina refineries and processing plants, my career has taken me all over South Africa and Australia. As 1 of small group in Australia to hold the coveted global CMRP certification my experience is complimented with a Masters’ Degree in Reliability Engineering and Maintenance Management. I believe my core strengths lie in combining asset management principals with Lean and the PDCA cycle as well as a strong focus on leading KPI's. This focus on systems implementations and business improvement within the operations and maintenance environment in heavy industry and mining equipment has enabled me to enjoy great success within my management roles. I am also Six Sigma BB qualified and a Lean and MOS Specialist with an excellent track record in Business Improvement. Professionally I am a strategic, hardworking and disciplined individual with the ability to liaise at all levels of the business, whether that be in a corporate setting or based on site. I have immensely enjoyed mentoring staff and leading large teams of up to 450 people, gaining real satisfaction from results and performance focus through team achieved KPIs. From a personal perspective I am quick to laugh, energetic and innovative. I am also a strong advocate for diversity in the workplace, understanding its true value to the company and successful business operations.
