Karl Zuvela

BSc in Applied Physics from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), now working as a development engineer in the electric automotive industry. Currently, I live in Bavaria, South Germany and work as a development engineer of electric vehicles, having now experience in testing, a bit of coding and scripting and now also in systems engineering. I am slowly becoming an intermediate in End2End signal protection. I have interests in the fields of software, data analysis, statistical and numerical analysis and experimental systems modelling. I hope to use my skills gained from a very technical driven physics degree in the fields of renewable energy, aerospace or healthcare technology (the future of humanity). To add to this I have a little experience in web development and graphic design, mostly coming from scripting tools required for university projects or for personal projects. I have experience in a physics research lab at the UTS Microstructural Analysis Unit, having worked on 3 volunteer research projects. These projects were focused on study of optically active defects in nanodiamonds using photoluminescence, which are the in development for quantum computing and medicine. I taught Judo and self-defence in the evenings at Goshu Judokan Freshwater and assisted coaching at Goshu Judokan Terrey Hills (closed location). I continue teaching Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the city of Regensburg, currently holding Zoom fitness trainings four times a week as a replacement during Corona-lockdowns. Ich kann ziemlich fließend Deutsch sprechen, gut und technisch schreiben und auch Gespräche live übersetzen. Am meisten ist meine Arbeit auf Englisch, wegen internationalen Projekte, also die Dokumentationen, die ich aus Kundenforderungen ableite, sind auf Englisch. Da unsere Kunden Deutsche Firmen sind, bekommen wir fast nur Kundenforderungen auf Deutsch, daher werden Meetings mit denen sowie interne Meetings natürlich auf Deutsch abgehalten. As of the past few months, I have been learning Croatian, which I can now read like a toddler and understand like a primary schooler. As this improves, I feel this will also become an advantage, due to the incredible opportunities for software development projects coming from the very talented firms in Croatia.
