Katarzyna (Kasia) Cartiera

My professional experience spans over nineteen years in the setting of inpatient and outpatient healthcare. Currently, as the Director of the Abdominal Transplant Programs at NYU Langone Health Transplant Institute, I am directly responsible for clinical, financial and administrative operations of the abdominal transplant programs. I have extensive knowledge when it comes to outpatient and inpatient organizational change management, quality, process improvement and patient satisfaction. As a leader, I strive to build a cohesive team. As teams change, priorities shift, goals adjust, so do the dynamics that one needs to help their team navigate. In my role as Director, I work closely with my medical and surgical directors, Social Work team, Advance Practice, Nutrition and many other ancillary departments to build a team focused on excellence in patient care, outcomes and quality.
