Kate Pearce

Kate is an experienced security leader who drives security approaches that are appropriate to risk, but aligned with an organisation’s culture and values. Agile cultures require agile security approaches that mitigate the risks of today but enable rapid grasp of the opportunities of tomorrow. Kate Pearce has previously worked with clients across the globe on cyber security, helping them test and secure both systems and organisations at all scales of technology and organisation. Kate's technical background includes application and network penetration testing, secure software development, and network design. She has strong grounding in service design and development, with and repeatable quality delivery being a core focus. Kate is a very experienced communicator, through her experience with media, technical speaking, and keynote speaking. She has spoken at many international and local events including, but not limited to, BlackHat USA, Kiwicon, ACSC, Source Boston, and several different Security BSides events. Her research and presentation topics include cyber security, deception technology, risk management, industry collaboration, mentoring and diversity, and biologically-inspired risk management approaches. Kate is also an InternetNZ Councillor, and a board member for the New Zealand Internet Task Force (NZITF)
