Kathryn Scurfield

Kathryn is an experienced international development practitioner with over 12 years experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) and implementing projects across a range of social policy areas throughout East Africa and South-east Asia. She has led teams to deliver high quality evaluations to various clients including the UK Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) – previously the FCO and DFID – the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI), the European Commission, USAID, Global Affairs Canada, various social enterprises, and NGOs. She has diverse thematic expertise relevant to international development including in health, education, governance and disaster resilience. She has extensive technical MEL expertise including in mixed-methods evaluation design; theory of change and causal chain development; designing flexible and adaptive logframes; MEL of complex and adaptive programmes; and evidence uptake/dissemination.
