Kathryn Waters

I am a certified medical coder with three years experience in a single specialty company, focusing on dialysis and kidney care. I have seven years experience in the medical field, having worked as an administrative assistant in a clinical setting for four years where I was in charge of medical charts, both electronic and physical records. I also managed the intake of new patients, along with many other typical and non-typical administrative duties. I am well educated and experienced with word processing, spreadsheets, and email applications. Until recently, I was working as a remote medical coder for Fresenius Medical Care North America as part of the Revenue Cycle Team. In this role, I was focused on projects that included assigning appropriate diagnosis and/or procedural codes to patient health information documents and researching and resolving general coding issues. I was consistent with a high accuracy rating during interim audits completed for our team. I have found a love for details and enjoy being able to research, input data, and create filing systems. I am an enthusiastic team-player, but am disciplined enough to work on my own. I take on projects with enthusiasm. As an individual who loves to expand on my skills and knowledge, there is nothing I love more than be able to teach and share what I have learned. I also thrive on challenges and look forward to what is ahead of me. I received my Diploma in Medical Billing and Coding from Gaston College and I also hold a BA in Theater from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
