Katie Boersma

I am a 24 year old student who is working to pay my own way through college. I am capable of working 40+ hours per week while taking 17 credit hours and still managing to maintain good grades. I am currently a student at Glendale Community College going for my Associates in Computer Information Systems. I will be switching my degree to Accounting when I go for my Bachelor's. I have taken courses in Business Management, Accounting, In-Depth Excel Courses, and have learned the basics of programming languages such as Java, C#, and Python, as well as HTML5/CSS3. I will be obtaining my Microsoft Office Certification within the next month or so. I previously worked in the accounting office of a manufacturing and supply company. I loved the challenging atmosphere of working in a small business environment. Month end close out, managing the Cash Receipts Journals, Miscellaneous Journals, Bad Debt Write-Off, and other posting reports was always enjoyable for me. When I was offered the position of Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist at CVS Health I jumped at the chance to grow my skills further on a larger scale. I now manage over 450 active facilities with a total balance in my portfolio ranging between $6-12 million. I have cut the past due balances by over half in the last 10 months I have been in charge of the accounts, and am striving to continue lowering the aging buckets. I always meet performance goals set by my company and love the emphasis on maintaining relationships with my facilities. I am not just collecting money, I am working to resolve the balances while always keeping a polite and friendly demeanor.
