My research focus on applied genetics, mainly the genetic background to behaviour and health traits in several species, for example dogs and pigs. Examples of current research projects: Automated recording of activity in sows in relation to lameness Piglet survival and sow behaviour Cross-breeding strategies in pigs to improve survival and welfare Genetic evaluation of temperament in dogs I teach in several courses at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). I have been head teacher at the undergraduate courses in animal breeding at my department since 2017, and regularly give lectures about animal breeding in several education programs. I regularly supervise students projects both at bachelor and master level. I have been director of studies both at department level and for the education program "Sports- and companion animals".
