Kaushik Sunder

I am currently the Director of Engineering at Embody, where I lead research and engineering focused on revolutionizing Spatial Audio in immersive environments. I have over a decade of experience in spatial audio research and innovation, which has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the complexities of sound engineering. This expertise enables me to develop and create innovative immersive audio technologies, and to drive cutting-edge research in this exciting field. My previous experience as a Research Scientist at OSSIC, a leading company in 3D Audio Technologies, has enabled me to excel in creating innovative immersive audio technologies that cater to various use cases, including music listening, gaming, and VR/AR. Prior to my work at OSSIC, I served as a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at the Department of Music Research at McGill University, where I focused on advancing room acoustics through the application of microphone arrays and 3D audio rendering technologies. I also hold the position of Visiting Researcher at the Advanced Control Displays Group, Human Systems Integration, NASA Ames Research Center. As a musician and audio researcher, I am passionate about integrating technology with sounds to improve the listening experience through various playback devices. I am also an experienced sound engineer with a keen interest in the recording and mixing process in music production. Furthermore, I am also a highly accomplished ultramarathon runner, having completed some of the world's most challenging and demanding races, including the Cocodona 250 mile race and the Bear 100 mile race, among others. With my extensive leadership experience, research background, and passion for audio engineering, I am well-positioned to drive innovation and deliver exceptional results for any organization that values excellence in audio technology.
