Kayla Hoenert

Rural Southern Indiana is where I was planted, and though my branches have extended far past Indiana, this is where my roots keep me grounded. I was raised on a family owned and operated grain farm where I learned what it looks like to work with determination and passion. I am a professional student at Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine in the class of 2021 to pursue the necessary education for my dream career in large animal health. At a young age, 4-H and FFA set the foundation for future involvement in the agriculture industry. While I have built a few stories on that foundation, I still hold fast to the fundamental soft skills I learned through my involvement in those organizations. Since graduating high school, I have been fortunate enough to have served a wide variety of roles in the agriculture industry, including experiences in livestock production, research, education, and grain production.
