Seasoned in-house labor and employment counsel. Provide pragmatic advice and counsel on the full range of labor and employment law matters to ensure compliance and minimize risk. Experience with all aspects of employment law, including wage and hour and FLSA exemption issues, OSHA, labor matters, matters relating to discrimination, harassment and retaliation, disability, FMLA and leaves, restrictive covenants and whistleblower protections. Draft employment-related policies, agreement, handbooks, collective bargaining agreements, offer letters, and separation agreements. Provide immigration support. Manage the resolution of claims and disputes including complaints of discrimination, grievances/arbitrations, and other workplace investigations. Provide support for external litigation and manage outside counsel. Manage labor relations including the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements. Extensive experience higher education and not-for-profit sectors.
