Ken Bean

Holding an MA in Town Planning, I have over 35 years experience of working on town planning related matters. I am currently employed part time by the London Borough of Barnet working on strategic and planning policy matters. Prior to April 2023 I worked for Capita as an Associate Director with responsibility for leading the company's National Planning Policy Growth Team. In addition to managing the planning policy team, I provided direct planning policy consultancy advice and support to a range of local authority clients. Before joining Capita I worked for Epping Forest District Council as Policy Planning Manager (November 2014 to October 2016) where my responsibilities included leading on the local plan and neighbourhood planning issues; and before that at Enfield Council (June 2011 to October 2014) where I focused on local plan, CIL and infrastructure delivery plan work supporting the Council’s regeneration priorities. From 2000 up until 2010 I was employed as a Senior Planning Officer at the Government Office for London with responsibility for a wide range of policy, casework and strategic planning issues. Having worked with Ministers, Members and a diverse range of partners within Government (at both national and local levels), Non Departmental Public Bodies, private and voluntary sectors and the public, in both urban and rural settings I offer a comprehensive knowledge of the planning system and strategic planning issues.
