I pride myself on having great integrity and sound judgement and decision making skills with the ability to remain calm and flexible under stressful and high pressure situations and environments. In my current role as a QHSE safety coach / advisor on-board Dive and Construction support vessels I support and assist the business, the project and marine teams with all aspects of safety such as risk management including, hazard identification and risk assessment activities, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH etc. Ensure compliance with legislative / industry, company and client requirements whilst remaining independent from the team. Delivery of coaching and training for all personnel in matters relating to QHSE including effective use of the risk management tools, safety programs / initiatives and business performance improvement. Ensuring that all personnel on-board have the required understanding and knowledge of the shipboard and business management systems and are employing the business’s Integrated Safe Systems of Work (Permit to work, toolbox talks, and risk assessment, management of change and observation cards) Liaise with and ensure that sub-contractors are inducted, monitored and are complying with the businesses and clients expectations Responsible for ensuring all accidents / incidents (including near misses) are investigated fully and reported in a timely manner. Focal point for Synergi life and Mintra software programs Complete compliance and verification audits and issue reports to onshore QHSE management and department heads with regard findings and any actions required Carry out audits of shipyards prior to vessel maintenance periods and assist the vessel managers / superintendents with safety management during maintenance and dry docking periods.
