Kevin Jolma

My construction career began in High School (and continued through College) as a residential framing contractor for my older brother's construction company. During College I studied Architecture, Engineering (Civil and Structural), Fine Arts as well as Business and Accounting; graduating Summa Cum Laude.My first job with General Construction Co. saw me traveling the West Coast constructing heavy-civil and marine projects.I progressed from Field Engineer to Project Engineer to Superintendent to Project Manager to Southern California Area Manager. The projects varied greatly: Container Ship Berths for the Ports of Long Beach, Los Angeles and Hueneme; Submarine and Ship piers for the Navy in San Diego; Paper mill work in Port Townsend WA; Car and Passenger Ferry Facilities for WSDOT in Bremerton, WA; to various small works projects in Southern California.In 1993, I was travel weary and created Jolma Construction, Inc. (a residential construction company) in SW Washington. For 8 years I designed and built over 100 custom homes. In 1998 we had an entry in the Parade of Homes and I served on the Board of Clark County Homebuilders Association.In 2001 I returned to commercial construction and was employed as a Construction Manager by Watermark Group, Inc. as well as Construction Management and Development of Honolulu HI. I oversaw various projects in WA and OR. My final project was oversight for Lehman Brothers on a $100M mixed use development in OR. The project consisted of Apartments, Condominiums, Retail Space, Parking Garages and a Mass Transit Station.In 2003 I took a position with Battle Ground School District to manage the construction of $120M in new school buildings and additions. These projects were completed in 2009. Since that time I have served as Director of Facilities, where I oversee the Custodial, Maintenance and Grounds Departments for a district with 13,000 students, 1.75 Million square feet of facilities and 500 acres of grounds.
