Robert Frost’s: The Road Not Taken. It always conjures up the image of a traveler on a late autumn day with the grass starting to fade and the trees are beginning to line the paths with their yellow and red hues. This traveler is deciding their path with no destination in mind but knowing winter will come and a decision needs to be made. An intermediate destination is reached, and the process will start over again. I would love to say I lived my life like this traveler and maybe, in the beginning, I did. I think we all take that untraveled path from time to time as our paths diverge infinitely throughout our lives. My path leads me here, to work with amazing people with different backgrounds and skills. Together we assess, design, construct, and operate equipment that is used to clean and maintain the world we inhabit. To make the path a little brighter for people like my daughter, whom I hope takes the path that fits her and who without in my life, would have left me a traveler still. I started off joining the Navy right out of high school where I was stationed at NAS North Island and worked as an aviation electronics technician after 4 years I reentered the world as a civilian. Since then I've worked in the oil and gas industry for over 15 years. I have been an electrician, a field construction manager, a process operator, and now a remediation specialist. What’s a Remediation specialist? After 8 years I’m still not sure but what I do on a day-to-day basis is run the operations and maintenance of Phillips 66 largest Remediation Management program. I’m also responsible for overseeing construction projects, from engineering design approval, budgeting, and finally the construction of remedial systems. I wear a lot of hats in my current position, more than I can remember sometimes, but it’s a great job and it’s challenging. If you are interested in knowing more about me and what I do, just ask.
