Kevin Tang

As a joint Chemistry and Urban Studies major, I aim to contribute my skills toward addressing systemic problems facing disenfranchised urban communities. As the world's population urbanizes rapidly, many challenges to human health and welfare will impact people living in large cities. While developing scientific techniques to address infectious disease, environmental health and lifestyle ailments is critical, understanding social context is necessary to implementing such solutions effectively. To that aim, I have volunteered with disadvantaged populations at home and abroad. In New York, I have worked with formerly incarcerated individuals at the Fortune Society and in numerous city government capacities. Abroad, I have studied abroad in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates and volunteered in medical and public health contexts in Panama. My hobbies include kickboxing, and constitutional history.
