Kim Frank is a writer and editor crafting long-form stories with some of the world’s top photographers, together highlighting conservation, exploration, and adventure across the globe. Recent publications include writing and editing Born to Ice with National Geographic photographer, Paul Nicklen (Amazon Editor’s 2018 Art Book Pick), and ghostwriting the book’s foreword for Leonardo DiCaprio, and Amaze by SeaLegacy’s Cristina Mittermeier (teNeues Publishing). A Fellow of The Explorers Club, Kim’s work is published in The Explorers Journal, Maptia, American Literary Review, The Nook, Sidetracked Magazine for Adventure Travel, Shadowgraph, DuPont Registry, Blackbird Literary Journal, Colorado Review, and in SVPN Magazine (premier lifestyle magazine for resort town, Sun Valley) where she served as Editor from 2014-2017. A 2014 Idaho Literature Fellow with an MFA from the Warren Wilson Program for Writers and an MSW from the University of Pennsylvania, Kim is a 2013 UCross Artist Residency Fellow. Current projects include: writing partnership with oceans and apex predator fine-art photographer, Matt Draper, Writing project with National Geographic filmmaker and Untamed host, Filipe D’Anderade, in final revisions on a novel set in the US and China about adoption, and a book-in-progress about the human-elephant conflict in Northern India.
