Kimberly Kay

I have over twenty years of nursing experience across a variety of settings. My hands-on clinical experience includes ICU, ER and pediatric home health care which has allowed me to utilize my nursing skill base while expanding my knowledge of the healthcare industry. Additionally, my professional experience outside of direct patient care has equipped me with unique insight and skills in the areas of risk management, clinical research, clinical documentation improvement, quality management and nursing education. Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to use my leadership skills in a variety of roles. I served as charge nurse and shift supervisor in both the ICU and ER. I led a team of eight nurses as senior legal nurse consultant for a malpractice defense law firm where I was responsible for recruiting, retention, policy creation, supervision, and training of the nursing staff. I also participated in a leadership committee for a large network of hospitals where we developed and implemented a set of core clinical competencies. Additionally, I owned and operated an independent book and gift store for six years where I was responsible for contracting, budgeting, staffing, business compliance and facilities management.
