Kira Robinson

My primary experience for the last 13 years has been as a Homemaker, Parent, Caregiver, and Homeschooling mom of four children within a family that has moved on average every four years. Before this I worked as a Day Manager at The Pizza Pipeline in Spokane, Washington. These various titles that I acquired during the last 13 years have provided me with an incredible amount of skills that can be useful in many environments. As a homemaker, I worked in administration, financial planning, budget management, schedule management and logistics, collaboration in investment management, have a working knowledge of nutrition and basic first aid and CPR. As a parent I have had lots of practice with problem solving, interpersonal relations, multi-tasking, organization, and conflict mediation and resolution. The skills I had to employ as a homeschooling parent are similar to those of teachers; I develop a curriculum, plan lessons, manage progress assessments, have a working knowledge of learning styles, and use multi-age classroom management skills. Caregiver skills go hand in hand with parenting skills providing compassionate care, effective scheduling, and basic medical care management. All the skills I have gained with my experience in the last 13 years have made me strong, versatile, tenacious, and able to adapt to different situations and environments. These skills will be useful as a business leader and entrepreneur by merging local needs with collaborative and lasting solutions. I am currently earning a Bachelors in Entrepreneurship and plan on using my skills earned and learned to establish a business that will focus on a huge need: affordable, safe, eco-conscious housing for individuals on fixed or low income. The plan is this business will also eventually delve into the realm of addressing homelessness in local communities.
