Kristin Robbins

Kristin has worked for Bexley City Schools since 2000, first as the Assistant Principal and now entering her second year as Principal. Highlights of Kristin's accomplishments over the past two decades include: expanding student opportunities and improving achievement; creating quality classroom instructional and assessment design through Understanding by Design and/or Assessment for Learning frameworks while documenting and measuring the effectiveness of classroom interventions for all students; utilizing cognitive coaching techniques to interact with professional educators and guide them through strategic planning to reach both small and large goals. Before her work as an administrator, Kristin worked as a Language Arts teacher in the Westerville City School district. During her time in the classroom, Kristin discovered an interest in assisting her colleagues with the development of classroom instructional practices that reached each student. Through this work, common units were developed with specific, agreed-upon assessment practices and initial interdisciplinary discussions and reflections on assessment methods. From this, grading policies and instructional practices developed. Kristin has been formally trained not only in the delivery of professional development around formative assessment, but also in the development and implementation of grading and feedback systems that truly represent student classroom achievement. Kristin holds a M.E. In Policy and Leadership and Secondary Principal and Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent from The Ohio State University. She also received her B.S. In Education from Miami University. Kristin’s free time is spent cheering on her two athletic sons at various fields across the Mid-West while also finding opportunities to travel and enjoy a wide variety of live music, theater or comedy.
