I’m a firm believer in the power of avid curiosity, creativity, and internet research. While my educational background honed my writing and analytical skills, many of the tasks I perform on a regular basis, such as customizing medical billing reports or designing advertising materials, are the product of a keen capacity for learning, a commitment to increasing the professionalism of our company, and, of course, Google—where else can you learn about Visual Basic, Inkscape, and HR law? In the world of small business, there are so many vital tasks for which you can’t simply create a position. If you only have a few employees, HR is not a full-time job. If you only have a dozen computers, you don’t need a whole IT department. And if you engage in B2B services with a limited number of long-term clients, marketing isn’t always a top priority. Balancing all of these functions (and more) is what I do, and I’m a proud jack of all trades. Knowing a little bit about a lot of things allows me to help all the experts around me focus on what they do best.
