Kristina Ensgård

My career in short: I have worked in the insurance industry in various roles and positions, with the last 17 years as CEO of Bliwa Livförsäkring. During my time at Bliwa Livförsäkring I have led the work of building a successful and profitable insurance company and a strong brand. The company has had an average premium income growth exceeding 20 percent per year, and today has about a million insured individuals through group contracts with 10 organisations and nearly 10.000 companies, of which more than 40 are among the 100 largest employers in Sweden. Throughout my entire career focus has been on creating, developing and enhancing business opportunities and operational quality. This includes finding ways for how to best adopt and adapt to changing customer needs, to increasing regulative demands and to digitalisation transformation. During my time at Bliwa I have been a member of the Finance Committee, participating in the management of Bliwa’s investment portfolio which today sums up to more than 2 billion SEK. Investments have been made according to a strategy that aims to generate a significant positive environmental impact, as well as a competitive risk-adjusted return. In recent years I have given more and more both personal and professional attention to sustainability issues, not least challenges related to environment and climate change, but also those related to sustainability in the context of work life, leadership and risk assessment. Parallel to my operative role as a CEO, I have had several assignments as a board member, mainly in the insurance and finance industry but also in the media- and health care industries. Currently, I am on the board of two insurance companies, three fund managing companies, one start up company within insure tech and one of Swedens best golf clubs. In addition, I have committee assignments in a risk and audit committee and in a remuneration committee. In late November 2019 I left my operational role as CEO of Bliwa to focus solely on board work and advisory services out of my own firm. From 2020 and onwards I am available to discuss any new interesting board or consultancy assignments where my experiences and expertise can make a difference.
