Kristy Knowles

I am currently completing a Bachelor of Psychological Science and Counselling at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. Once I have graduated, I plan to pursue a position as a Counsellor whilst continuing postgraduate study to achieve my goal of becoming a Counselling Psychologist. Whilst studying, I have been developing my behavioural intervention skills as an ABA Therapist, where I provide weekly therapy sessions to children with autism. My highlights involve seeing my client's behaviour and vocabulary expand, and of course, all the sweet giggles shared between my twenty-something-year-old self with children five years old and under. In addition to my role as an ABA therapist, I am a volunteer counsellor at a government high school, where I support adolescents to become the best version of themselves. I connect deeply with the counselling experience as I find being let into another's inner world a privilege and honour. I feel grateful for the enormous opportunities the field of psychology and counselling has to offer. In my spare time, I put my leadership skills to use by working as an Event Supervisor at wedding receptions, and I stimulate my intellect by working as a Website Copy Creator for Maulucci Design.
