Kuo-Ming Wang

My research interest is on signal processing, system architecture design and implementation. I major in communication in my master degree. After that, I do the IC design job on scanner(Realtek), cmos image sensor(Pixart), DVD/CD player/recorder products(Sunplus) and mixed signal research(TSMC). For DVD/CD player/recorder, I have developed the digital front end (clock recovery and PRML), error correction IP and platform integration for DVD/CD player/recorder chips. I involved in algorithm development, system simulation, architecture specification, prototyping, implementation and finally mass production. These let me get impressed experience on communication, circuit design and system integration. In TSMC period, my major work is on advanced mixed signal technology development. We used some digital methods to solve the analog problems faced by the advanced technology. Its silicon proved to work. This also broaden my cross field capability on mixed signal circuit which is an important interface to real world. Currently, I am responsible for the platform development, backend technology management of webcam product(Quanta) and lead to mass production. Work experiences not only make me progress in technical skill, get whole picture in IC products , but also train me to grasp the key point quickly and have strong confidence on problem solving.
