When I was younger, my grandmother and mother always made sure I stayed by their side in the kitchen. I learned how to crack my first egg, peel collard greens, whip cornbread batter, and season chicken all under their watchful eyes. These special moments were the seeds that later grew into my deep love for cooking. In high school, I was introduced to the culinary arts program and realized that I could make my passion a career. I went on to earn my ServSafe Certification, IL Food Handler Certification, and Culinary Arts Certification at the high school level. Following high school I immediately entered the food industry as a fry cook at Popeyes, learning how to control inventory, store food, and keep up equipment maintenance. I then went on to open many corporate lunchrooms and restaurants including, the Marriott Marquis Chicago Hotel and Restaraunt, the Harbor Chicago, and my current role, Facebook Chicago. I am looking to grow my culinary experience as a prep cook working under a head chef that can serve as a mentor. I ultimately aspire to head a national restaurant chain.
