Laura Mantin

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Urban Forestry at the University of British Columbia and aspire to work in public policy and environmental consulting with a focus on the urban forest. From 2016-2019 I was lucky enough to work at Kelly's Tree Care Ltd in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada and in April of 2018 I graduated with honors from Humber College for Urban Arboriculture. I then went on to spend three years working for David James Tree Service in Blenheim, New Zealand. I loved every minute of it. I then studied in the Urban Forestry Technician Co-op program at Fleming College where I made the dean's list each semester, was class president, and valedictorian. I have participated in many tree climbing competitions, and attended numerous industry events and conferences. I love to travel, meet new and interesting industry professionals, learn about trees and tree care, and climbing techniques. I am passionate about fostering women and girls in the trades, especially arboriculture. I have served as a committee member on the Women in Arboriculture Ontario Committee, and volunteer annually at the Skills Ontario Young Women's Conference speaking to young women about pursuing careers in the trades.
