Laura Palmer

I am an aspiring engineer with almost four years of experience working in hydraulic and roadway design. I have collaborated with coworkers to complete government and privately funded projects in multiple states. These opportunities have taught me to work with several sets of standards to complete detailed calculations and designs in HEC-RAS, MicroStation and Civil 3D. My technical knowledge has been further developed by my engineering graduate research in floodplain modeling. I had extensive experience with ArcGIS and learned the history of common flow calculation methods. Serving first as the Vice President then President of the Central Ohio Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) has allowed me to develop leadership skills while actively contributing to my community. Three years of involvement in the organization has also provided me with the opportunity to work with a variety of disciplines for with community clients in Ohio and Central America.
