Lauren Cherry

I've recently returned to Civil Engineering, working for Mott MacDonald, after a 3 year break working in the Social Care sector. In 2016 I graduated the University of Strathclyde with Masters in Structural and Architectural Engineering and then worked in industry for three years. I worked with AECOM in their Bridges department where I enjoyed varied work and a supportive team. During this time I began volunteering with Simon Community Scotland. Then, in 2019, I joined the organisation as Volunteer Coordinator where I gained valuable experience in managing projects and supporting people. In July 2022 I returned to civil engineering, this time with Mott MacDonald, where I have been working with their Highways Drainage team. A 360-degree feedback exercise highlighted that some of my strengths are working as part of a team and being easily adaptable when scenarios outside my normal work duties arise.
