I think that we have lost our relationship with the environment, especially our oceans, and that we need to get that back through integrating sustainable resources into the tapestry of urban planning. How to get residents, businesses, and leaders to value resources such as water and food is the challenge that matters most to me.I believe that sustainability is fundamentally a process, and, as such, demands more than just the ability to get from A to B: it requires ingenuity, commitment, collaboration, and adaptability. I have had the opportunity to study and work with professionals in the field of water, law and policy, resource management, aquaponics, and sustainable design. I would love to gain more professional experience in the field of marine management and oceanography. I hope to pursue a career changing the way we interact and utilize the precious resources our oceans have provided us.
