My practice includes data privacy and security, SaaS and online technology, marketing and advertising, e-commerce, social media influencer endorsement, intellectual property (trademark and copyright registration, licensing, and infringement), and general business counseling, including, contracts, employment, entity formation, and governance. How does a designer become a lawyer? That is the question I get asked the most. But it doesn't seem that odd to me. The answer, in a word, is creativity. While many view the law as black and white, it is much more malleable,​ especially when it comes to the Internet and emerging technologies. I was inspired to become a lawyer while I was an art director working in media. I immersed myself in creative business ethics and intellectual property matters. Fast forward several years and I graduated from top-25 ranked ASU Law; excelled in writing; published an article on the DMCA; served as Senior Executive Editor for a technology journal; and I fell in love with trademarks and contracts. I counsel emerging and growing companies, software developers, and online content creators. I also explore work in data aggregation, cybersecurity, online privacy, e-discovery, and legal tech.
