As healthcare costs grow and access continues to diminish, early intervention and public education are emerging as powerful tools. Physical therapy is centered around delivering these tools. From simple things like training our kids to be safer athletes, to keeping our parents well balanced and strong, we can move people's lives forward. I believe there is potential for this profession that will only be realized if physical therapists improve their business models, advocate for themselves and their patients in public and legislative arenas, and learn to approach the public where they need it, rather than passively waiting for patients to struggle in the door. My passion is moving physical therapy out into the public, so that physical therapists can help the public move.
