I want to create – create relationships, create ideas, create new perspectives. In doing so, I don't want to throw away what's broken, but figure out a way to fix and improve it. I have always loved interacting with all sorts of people from different walks of life. It’s fun for me to talk to strangers, people who lead completely different lives than me, because it’s exciting: you never know who that person is or who they could become, and you always come out of such interactions having learned something you didn't know before. What I have learned at USC is that I can actually use this approach to social interaction in my career. Such communication capabilities are typically referred to as soft skills, and they are the essential selling point of more technical, ‘hard’ skills. Because I enjoy meeting people, bringing groups together, and solving problems, I really feel like I can put this to use in a professional setting. The most effective way for things to be invented, built or transformed is with a set of different minds coming at a problem from different points of view. I want to be one of the people guiding us towards the end goal: build something that gives you and whoever you are serving purpose and communicate that purpose to the world.
