Lindsay Zimmerman

I am a Grand Valley State University Graduate with a degree in therapeutic recreation also known as TR. I completed my internship at Brookcrest Rehab and Life Center, mainly working on their dementia unit. Grand Valley has given me the skills to become the best certified therapeutic recreation specialist by practicing the APIED process and researching the effects of activity based interventions. By interacting with people that are experiencing addictions, behavioral disorders, psychological disorders, physical disabilities, and other mental disorders, I have been able to give the best care possible. Throughout the numerous hours of volunteering and shadowing, I have been given the opportunity to advocate for those living with a disability and become a better leader. My passion for this population is my driving force and combining that with the knowledge I have acquired through the duration of Grand Valley’s program, I am ready for what is to come ahead of me.
