Lisa Mellen

Currently a Director at Birribi Ltd a small but innovative children’s residential care service based in west Wales. Our trauma and attachment based model encompasses social learning/pedagogy. We work hard to deliver positive evidence based outcomes for children with highly complex presentations. Lisa runs the therapy services. Lisa trained as a radiographer and has worked in health and social care for 30 plus years, working in the voluntary sector with homeless, young offenders and in mental health before moving into substance misuse For the past 20 years specialised in substance misuse and especially young peoples services. In addition she has experience in working with some of the most complex and challenging services users - sex workers, CSE young people and homeless and chaotic iv drug users. She has experience in developing services and education programmes aimed at reducing and and promoting recovery. She is an experienced team leader and project manager and is keen to innovate new services which address recurring concerns. Lisa is a qualified trainer delivering to service users and professionals alike In 2016 Lisa, along with key partners, began a new Community Interest Company YOUTHINC which aims to work in a truly innovative way with young people who have complex presentations. Lisa also recently qualified and an Equine Assisted therapist
