Lisa Powers, CPA; M.S., Law of Taxation Curriculum Vitae Lisa Powers, CPA, M.S., Law of Taxation is President of The Powers Group, in San Francisco, CA. She leads and owns Powers Accountancy Corporation, a tax advisory firm for high net worth clients and their affiliates. She also leads Powers Equity, Inc. A commercial real estate developer /advisor, focusing on “tax-wise” real estate investing. Ms. Powers has a highly entrepreneurial background, having formed and sold four distinctly different businesses after implementation and achievement of concept. Due to the high cost of taxation to principal and re-investment for a seller of business property, her firm advises how to minimize taxation of “trade or business” success and, to move forward to the next phase. Tax basis is a specialty of the firm in both business taxation and estate and trust formation; also, tax result optimization. Lisa graduated from Golden Gate University’s Masters of Tax Law Program in 1987 after receiving a special admittance due to passing the CPA Exam before completing her undergraduate degree. With a high accord to taxpayer advocacy and equity, she has a proven track record of success in tax controversy resolution and litigation, at IRS Appeals and higher levels.
